DESCRIPTION:The next TASA Superintendent Mentor Training will be conducted in conjunction with the 2024 TASA Midwinter Conference in Austin\, 3-5 p.m.\, Sunday\, January 28. The training will focus on the skills and superintendent competencies needed for mentors to build strong relationships\, connect to First-Time Superintendents Academy session content\, and provide coaching to new mentees. \nInterested in Being a Mentor?\n\nTASA is seeking successful superintendents who meet the following requirements to serve as mentors: \n\ncertified in Texas as a superintendent\ncommitted to spending the time needed to be a mentor\ncommitted to completing the required mentor training\nprofessionally committed to the Texas public education system\na current TASA member\n\nPreference is given to TASA members committed to the New Vision for Public Education in Texas who are active in TASA’s Mission: School Transformation-related networking and professional learning. \n\nHow to Sign Up\n\n\nIf you plan to attend the 2024 TASA Midwinter Conference\, add the free mentor training to your conference registration\, and when making housing reservations for the conference\, please keep in mind the time/date of the mentor training (3-5 p.m.\, Sunday\, January 28).\nIf you do not plan to attend the Midwinter Conference but wish to participate in the mentor training\, please contact Jessica Arceneaux to reserve your seat.\nIf you have previously participated in the training and served as a mentor in TASA’s mentoring program\, your name will remain on the list of mentors available to serve new superintendents. DESCRIPTION:N2 Learning (N2) and TASA are partnering to offer The Principals’ Institute (PI) and the Assistant Principal Leadership Academy (APL) to school districts across the state. Both PI and APL are designed to help administrators develop as instructional leaders and build networks of like-minded administrators across the state. \nThe 2020-2021 school year will be the 10th year of PI\, and N2/TASA are excited to offer principals this learning experience that many describe as the best professional development they have ever experienced. For APL\, the 2020-2021 school year will be its second year of statewide implementation\, and the feedback we have received from assistant principals about APL has been excellent. \nStop by the N2 Learning Meet-and-Greet between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.\, Tuesday\, January 28\, at the TASA Midwinter Conference\, and see the N2 partners and senior associates and ask about PI\, APL\, and all the other services N2 provides.
